Remember that The 9 Muses are alive and well and their reality intersects with ours. Temper traditional information with a touch of whimsy and a lot of Magick. Take your time while reading and looking at the picture. Open your mind and heart and let The Muse come to you and reveal her Truth.
THE MUSE EUTERPE
Euterpe is known as the "Giver Of Pleasure". She is the Muse of Music and is represented with a flute. It is said that She is the inventor of the double flute. By the river Strymon, she gave birth to Rhesus who was later slain at Troy.

Painted by Camille Roqueplan
Euterpe glanced her fingers o'er her lute,
And lightly waked it to a cheerful strain,
Then laid it by, and took the mellow flute,
Whose softly flowing warble filled the plain:
It was a lay that roused the drooping soul,
And bade the tear of sorrow cease to flow;
From shady woods the Nymphs enchanted stole,
While laughing Cupids bent the silver bow,
Fluttering like fays that flit in Luna's softened glow.
